CHƯƠNG TRÌNH ĐÀO TẠO GIÁO VIÊN DẠY SINH HỌC BẰNG TIẾNG ANH

Từ năm 2017 Khoa Sinh học, Trường Đại học Sư phạm-Đại học Thái Nguyên tuyển sinh đào tạo đại học chính quy Chương trình đào tạo Giáo viên dạy sinh học bằng tiếng Anh.
Sinh viên vào học Chương trình đào tạo Giáo viên dạy sinh học bằng tiếng Anh đạt được chuẩn đầu ra, có khả năng công tác, học tập sau khi tốt nghiệp như sau:
  • Đạt được chứng chỉ tiếng Anh quốc tế tương đương với IELTS 5.5
  • Được trang bị các kiến thức cơ bản và chuyên sâu về Sinh học, 75% các môn học được giảng dạy một phần hoặc hoàn toàn bằng tiếng Anh. Do đó, sinh viên ra trường có khả năng giảng dạy Sinh học, dạy học tích hợp Khoa học tự nhiên bằng tiếng Anh ở các trường phổ thông Quốc tế, THPT, THPT Chuyên, Cao đẳng và Đại học.
  • Bên cạnh các học phần chuyên ngành được lồng ghép cả lý thuyết và thực hành, chương trình còn được thiết kế nhiều học phần thực hành riêng biệt nhằm củng cố sâu các kiến thức sinh học, tăng cường các kỹ năng, thao tác thực hành thí nghiệm về Sinh học cơ thể thực vật, động vật, di truyền và tế bào, kỹ thuật di truyền, công nghệ gen, công nghệ tế bào thực vật và vi sinh vật. Do đó, sinh viên khi ra trường không những có khả năng làm việc tại các Viện, Trung tâm nghiên cứu, Phòng thí nghiệm ở Việt Nam, mà còn có khả năng làm việc tại các nước trong khu vực Asean như Thái Lan, Indonesia, Malaysia…
  • Có khả năng tiếp tục học tập (Thạc sĩ, Tiến sĩ) và nghiên cứu Sinh học tại các nước trong khu vực Asean (Thái Lan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore…) và một số nước Đông bắc Á (Đài Loan (Trung Quốc), Hàn Quốc, Nhật Bản…).
THE UNDERGRADUATE CURRICULUM
Title: Training Biology Teacher in English
Level: University Education
Programme: Biology Teacher Education
Type of education: Formal Education
1.        Purposes of the training program
i) To train biology teacher in English for Higher schools, especially for International high schools, High schools for gifted students, Professional schools, and Universities, Colleges.
ii) Students graduated from the programme of training biology teacher in English will have enough qualities to work at Colleges, Institutes and Universities where the teaching and/or reasearch includes Biological Sciences, such as Institute of Biotechnology, Universities of Education, Universities of Science, Institute of Environment, etc. The students will also be able to work at bords, divisions, departments, business establishments where area of work is related to Biology in Vietnam.
iii) Students graduated from the training programme will be able to do research or to work in the areas of Biological Sciences, Environmental Biology and Biotechnology at Institutes, Laboratories, Universities in countries in Asean such as Japan, Korean, Taiwan, etc.
2.        Objectives of the training programme
After graduating from the training programme, students will have qualities, knowledge, and skills as follows:
* Qualities
Loyalty to our country and people; love their job, honest at work, and having all qualities of an educator or a teacher.
 * Knowledge
i) Having enough knowledge of Biology/Biological Sciences and teaching ability. To be good at teaching Biology in English at High schools for gifted students, International schools, Colleges and Universities.
ii) Being able to adapt to requirements of innovative methods of teaching, innovative curriculum, student evaluation and testing methods of Universities, Colleges, Professional schools and High schools. Students will be able to use their Informatics and English abilities to improve their teaching quality.
iii) Being able to understand and solve daily life and educational problems. They will be able to propose scientific hypotheses, write research proposals, scientific reports and apply scientific research results to life.
iv) Having ability to integrated teaching Natural Sciences, Population Education; Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS prevention, Drugs and other Social Evilsl
v) Being able to take higher lever such as Master andD courses.
* Skills
They will have abilities to practice, do experiments; do research and apply scientific results to life.
3.        Standard output of the training programme for undergraduate students
Standard output of the training programme for undergraduate students as follows:
3.1. Knowledge
i) Students are able to understand and interpret knowledge of basic Biology such as Cytology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, etc. in English and knowledge of specialized knowledge of biology such as Botany, Zoology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, etc. Learners can be able to deal with practical problems happened during teaching process in High schools.
ii) Learners have knowledge of Psychology, Education, Pedagogy, Theories of Teaching and Methods of Teaching Biology to fulfill the requirements of innovative methods of teaching, innovative curriculum, models of teaching, evalation and testing methods in High schools.
iii) Students’s English ability must be equal to IELTS 5.5. They can communicate and understand reading materials for biology.
iv) Students must fulfill standard output of Informatcs stated in the document No. 2880/QĐ-ĐHSP, date 4th, August, 2016; promulgated by the Rector of University of Education – Thai Nguyen University. They can apply knowledge of Informatics for innovative methods of teaching and doing scientific research.
3.2. Skills
i) Learners have basic abilities to organize teaching activities; know how to make teaching plans and organize activities for teaching biology to High school students (includes analyzing curriculum, design teaching plans, teaching organization, evaluation and testing High school students)
ii) Learners are good at using computer, softwares for teaching, and tools for doing research and teaching Biology.
iii) Learners have abilities to develop High school curriculum as the orienting innovation education, and to apply local knowledge to the curriculum.
iv) Learners have ability to integrate knowledge of Environmental Protection, Population Education, Education on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, Hygiene and Food Safety, Sex Education, HIV/AIDS Prevention, Rrugs and other Social Evils in High schools
v) Learners have good practical skills, doing experiment skills and application of Morden Biology to research, production and life.
vi) Learners have ability to do scientific research, to organize collective educational activities and to work in group as well as to work independently.
vii) Learners are able to adapt to occupational requirements, to learn and reasearch themself areas related to biology and scientific education.
3.3. Attitude
1.        i) Learners have civic awareness and civic responsibility, attitude and proper professional ethics, awareness of discipline and exemplary style of the teacher; get on well and sticking to collective and community.
2.        ii) Learners take part in social and political activities inside and outside High schools in order to develop schools and community, to build social learning environment.
3.4. Place of work and ability to work after graduating
i) Learners have ability to teach Biology and teach integrated natural sciences in English in International schools, High school for gifted students, Professional schools, Colleges and Universities.
ii) Learners have ability to work at Institutes where their research areas includes Biology, Environmental Biology, Biotechnology; and ability to work at bords, divisions, departments, bussiness establishments where the job relates to Biology in Vietnam.
iii) Learners are able to work in Institutes, Research Center, Laboratory in Asia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan.
3.5. Ability to study, improve knowledge after graduation
After graduation, graduated students will have ability to study, research at higher level (Master, Ph.D) in order to fulfill the requirements of teaching and researching Biology, Biotechnology in Universities in Vietnam as well as in South East Asean such as Korea, Japan, etc.

5.        Credits requirements: 132 credits
6.        Entrance requirements: High school students graduated from all high schools in Vietnam.
7.        Training process and graduation requirements
According to the decision No. 1838/QĐ-ĐHSP, 20th, June, 2013 promulgated by the Rector of University of Education – Thai Nguyen University on Academic credit systems in University and College education; student normally receives the B.A. degree if all the following graduation requirements are fulfilled:
+ Finished all courses and fulfilled enough cumulative credits as stated in the undergraduate curriculum.
+ Achieved Grade point average (GPA) greater than or equal to 2.00.
+ Achieved certificate of Defense – Security Education and finished all courses of physical education.
+ Sastified standard output of Informatics as decided at the document No.  2880/QĐ-ĐHSP, 04th, August, 2016 promulgated by the Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Education.
+ Foreign language ability: achieved IELTS 5.5 or other international certificates equaled to EILTS 5.5.
